چکیده

Abstract Deformable Linear Objects (DLOs) such as ropes, cables, and surgical sutures have a wide variety of uses in automotive engineering, surgery, electromechanical industries. Therefore, modeling DLOs well computationally efficient way to predict the DLO behavior are great importance, particular enable robotic manipulation DLOs. The main motivation this work is pre- diction during manipulation. In paper, modeled by multivariate dynamic spline, while symplectic integration method used solve model iteratively interpolating shape process. Comparisons between symplectic, Runge-Kutta Zhai integrators reported. presented results show capabilities integrator overcome other methods predicting behavior. Moreover, obtained with different sets parameters integrated means reported how they influence estimation.

Optimized linear FEM for modeling deformable objects

The main contribution of our work is a technique to accelerate the real-time simulation of deformable objects using a stable finite element method. Our purpose is to construct a preconditioner matrix for the coefficient matrix of the implicit integration scheme based on the global rotation matrix of the object. We describe some required steps to compute an optimal preconditioner in an off-line ...

Manipulating Deformable Linear Objects: Model-Based Adjustment-Motion for Vibration Reduction

1 Shigang YUE is a research fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation from Beijing Polytechnic University Abstract This paper addresses the problem of handling deformable linear objects (DLOs) in a suitable way to avoid acute vibration. An adjustment-motion that eliminates vibration of DLOs and can be attached to the end of any arbitrary end-effector’s trajectory is presented, based on th...

A Bayesian Multivariate Functional Dynamic Linear Model

We present a Bayesian approach for modeling multivariate, dependent functional data. To account for the three dominant structural features in the data—functional, time dependent, and multivariate components—we extend hierarchical dynamic linear models for multivariate time series to the functional data setting. We also develop Bayesian spline theory in a more general constrained optimization fr...

Knotting/Unknotting Manipulation of Deformable Linear Objects

Here, we propose a planning method for knotting/unknotting of deformable linear objects. First, we propose a topological description of the state of a linear object. Second, transitions between these states are defined by introducing four basic operations. Then, possible sequences of crossing state transitions, i.e. possible manipulation processes, can be generated once the initial and the obje...

Manipulating Deformable Linear Objects: Sensor-Based Fast Manipulation during Vibration

1 S.YUE is a research fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Abstract It is difficult for robots to handle a vibrating deformable object. Even for human beings it is a high-risk operation to, for example, insert a vibrating linear object into a small hole. However, fast manipulation using a robot arm is not just a dream; it may be achieved if some important features of the vibration a...
